Many Hands Brewery comes to Wellington in Somerset

Tuesday 3 June 2025

Many Hands Brewery was created at Dunkeswell Airfield in Devon in 2017. It has now moved to new premises in Wellington, Somerset.

All permissions have been obtained and the new brewery is set to start producing in June 2025, on the Tonemill development, which is an old textiles mill that is being converted to new use using “levelling up” money from ages ago - roughly £20 million.

It is likely to spearhead Wellington’s slow shift from dreary hell hole to another Langport. They share premises and a vision with their mates Brazier Coffee Roasters, whose cafe is their temporary brewery tap. They should have their own, next to and part of the brewery, this summer.

The old kit was <2 hectolitres a time, the new kit is 7.5 hectolitres. It began with unfiltered bottled beer then moved to unfiltered keg beers and has recently bought some casks, to give that a bash. Brewer Tom Weymouth is ex-Unity in Southampton, and knows his stuff.

I will revisit in August 2025, when all teething problems should be sorted and am happy to remain Brewery Liaison Officer (BLO). The Good Beer Guide (GBG) entry has been updated and Brewery Liaison Coordinator (BLC) Informed.
