Carhampton Apple Day: Saturday 12th October 2024

A cornucopia of delicious traditional apples will be on sale in Carhampton Community Orchard, opposite Carhampton Stores, from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 12th October, as well as freshly-pressed orchard apple juice. Morning coffee and cake will be on sale from 10.30am in Carhampton Village Hall, with soup and pudding lunches from 12.00, plus cake and produce stalls.

Donations to the cake and produce stall would be warmly welcomed on the morning or in advance. Cakes (especially apple cakes!), preserves, biscuits, buns, pastries, light savouries and anything else – whether apple-themed or not – all welcome.

Carhampton’s bargain bookshop and Carhampton Heritage Centre (both in Carhampton Rec, opposite the orchard) will also be open from 10.30am to 3pm. All sites are within easy walking distance of each other, with plentiful parking available at the Rec and the Village Hall.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BAGS for all your purchases! And if you’d like your own PRE-CHOPPED apples juiced (midday to 1.30 only) please bring your own bottles! (Note: we may not be able to juice more than one bag/bucket of pre-chopped apples per family, depending on availability of time.)

Hope to see some of you there! And if anyone can lend a hand in the hall or the orchard, whether with selling, juicing, setting-up or clearing away (especially clearing up in the village hall!) please let us know!

All the best, Elizabeth & Emily
