This classic village inn is the centre for many local events including the famous annual turnip prize and international spoof. The public bar, lounge and dining areas are complemented by a beer garden to the rear. Only one ale served on handpump supplemented occasionally with a guest ale. Traditional, good-value home cooked food is served including breakfast baps and hot drinks 9 to 11am Monday to Saturday. There is a skittle alley/function room and winter skittles and darts provide a hive of activity.
