See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

A real country pub in the Blackdown Hills area of outstanding natural beauty. The only pub in England with this name – a clavel is a beam across the fireplace and hewn from holm oak. Three ciders from local producers. Two pen fires, no TV or machines. Children, dogs, walkers, cyclists and muddy boots are all welcome. Food is sourced from local farmers and other suppliers. Gluten free diners and vegetarian menus. Local musicians play (Irish style sessions) every first Thursday of the month. Beware the free range poultry wandering thrugh the car park.
