With a well-worn 16th-century facade and great views from the rear terrace and sun-trap patio, this tavern spans centuries and generations. The wide, low front doorway leads to the traditional bar where the more mature clientele gather. A portholed archway leads to the modern building where younger drinkers congregate. Real log fires warm both bars. There is a pool room and function room for live music most Saturdays and sometimes on other days. No lunch or evening meals but there are bar snacks, rolls, pasties and cakes and occasional 'pop-up' food events.
