Campaign for Real Ale

Make a nomination for the Pomona Award by 1st August

Sunday 10 July 2022

There is just one month left to make a nomination for the Pomona Award.

Background

This award is named after the Goddess of fruit trees, gardens, and orchards and is presented by CAMRA to a person, group, organisation, idea or concept (where a recipient can be identified) that has made an outstanding achievement, commitment, or contribution to the promotion of real cider or perry. The primary consideration is given to activities over the previous 12 months, however, where there is no outstanding contender in this category, consideration is then given to on-going outstanding work in this field.

All forms of cider and perry related activity will be considered. Individuals will not be eligible for this award if their contribution is for or within CAMRA, as Campaigner of the Year is more appropriate. Pubs are not eligible if their contribution is just selling cider, as the National Cider & Perry Pub of the Year award is more appropriate. Cider makers are not eligible for this award if their contribution is just making or selling cider, as the National Cider & Perry Championships are more appropriate.

Pomona Award Nominations If you feel that you know of a person, group, organisation, idea or concept eligible for consideration for a Pomona Award, please fill out the on-line Nomination Form on the CAMRA website at http://www.camra.org.uk/pomona-award and nominations for consideration for an award this year will close on the 1st August 2022. Worthy nominations received after this date may be considered for an award in May 2023.
